James M Field & James D Field

A dedicated family man, entrepreneur and builder, James began his career in construction in the 1980s, after completing a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) at the University of Melbourne and working in production, development and accounting for a number of large multinationals.

He’s built dream homes and developed land, owning and operating a successful contracting business in and around his beloved Melbourne bayside for more than three decades.

Married with two grown-up children including namesake and business partner Jimmy, James is an avid world traveller with a passion for innovative architecture and design.

Like his father, Jimmy is a devoted family man and passionate athlete and traveller. Driven, ambitious and focused, Jimmy is a registered Domestic Builder (Unlimited) with comprehensive and first-hand knowledge of all major building trades. He’s a highly qualified and effective project manager, working in key management roles for major tier 2 builders before establishing Field Group.

As Director of Field Group, Jimmy has overseen the successful design and construction of a number of residential and development projects and strives continuously to find new and better ways to build. He prides himself on staying up-to-date with industry best practice and the latest global building and design trends.
